Airbus A320neo set to fly
|The new Airbus A320neo will start for its maiden flight on Thursday (25 Sep) – pending on the weather conditions. The flight would last two hours and starts from Toulouse-Blagnac, the manufacturer told today.
The first aircraft of this type already made some tests on the ground. Airbus celebrated the roll-out on July 1st.
The A320neo – for “new engine option” – incorporates many innovations, including latest generation engines and large Sharklet wing-tip devices, which together deliver 15 percent in fuel savings and a reduction of 3,600 tonnes of CO2 per aircraft per year. The neo option is available for A319, A320 and A321
With more than 3,250 orders received from 60 customers since its launch in 2010, the A320neo Family has captured a solid 60 percent share of the market.
