Two popular holiday islands can be found on the new summer flight schedule from Munich: Iceland and Crete – the largest volcanic island in Europe and the largest Greek island, will be served every Saturday since 23 May 2015. The new connection to the Icelandic airport Keflavik also complements the service from Frankfurt: Iceland is on the flight schedule three times a week at Germany’s largest hub.

Lufthansa will only fly to the Cretan airport in Heraklion from Munich. “For many passengers, the two destinations are on their list of dream destinations. The variety of historical and tourist attractions make them particularly interesting destinations for travel lovers”, says Thomas Klühr, Member of the Lufthansa German Airlines Board, Finance & Hub Munich. In addition to Keflavik and Heraklion, this summer Lufthansa will fly to Glasgow/Scotland, Seville/Spain and Perugia in Umbria/Italy for the first time.
