WIZZ AIR ANNOUNCES A BASE IN KOSICE

East european low cost carrier Wizz Air announced that it will open its 20th base in Kosice, Slovakia with one new Airbus A320 on 14 September. Coinciding with the delivery of the aircraft the airline will start operating 2 new routes from Kosice to Doncaster Sheffield and Milan Bergamo.

With the new Kosice services Wizz Air is now offering 11 weekly flights on 3 routes from Kosice, representing over 50% capacity growth year on year (October 2015).

At a press conference in Kosice, József Váradi, Wizz Air’s CEO, said: „We started our operations in Slovakia just 1.5 years ago and already carried over 130,000 passengers on Kosice and Poprad routes. Slovakia is becoming our 12th country where we have established base operations. We look forward to bringing more low fares and attractive routes to Slovakian consumers and their visitors.”
