Lufthansa announces new service from Munich to Finland
|In winter, Lufthansa customers will have the opportunity to fly from Munich non-stop to the largest and best-known winter sports centre in Finland for the first time. From 19 December 2015, Lufthansa will be taking off every Saturday on course for Kittilä, and thus to the nearby ski resort Levi. Until 26 March 2016, an Airbus A320 with 168 seats in two classes will continue to fly to Lapland. Customers will be able to book their flight in Business Class, too.
Due to the departure time of 9 am from Munich, there will be ideal connections from domestic German and most European airports. “In Kittilä we are offering our customers an exclusive winter destination for the first time. The ski resort is an Eldorado for enthusiastic winter sport fans,” says Thomas Klühr, Member of the Lufthansa Passenger Board Finances & Hub Munich.
Kittilä and the nearby ski resort Levi are 170 kilometres north of the Arctic Circle. The winter sports centre in Lapland has already been voted as the best Finnish ski resort four times and meets international and FIS standards. Levi offers more than 40 lifts with runs ranging from those for families up to a World Cup run. The resort’s range includes 230 kilometres of cross-country skiing, plus snowshoe hiking trails and 900 kilometres of snowmobile routes. One special feature is the Northern Lights, which can be admired during winter sport activities.
