Germanwings announced that it will fly from Cologne and Stuttgart to booth airports in Berlin: Tegel (TXL) and Schoenefeld (SXF). The lowcost carrier will increase the service on Cologne-Berlin to 13 flights daily and from Stuttgart to Berlin to 10.

This means three new daily flights from Cologne (effective 5 October) and from Stuttgart (effective 25 October) to Berlin SXF. At the moment germanwings flies up to 10x daily from Cologne to TXL and up to 7x daily from Stuttgart to TXL.

The carrier said in a statement that passengers asked for flights from Berlin SXF. Since October 2003 germanwings started from SXF but 2012 the carrier moved to TXL Airport after the closer cooperation with parent Lufthansa.
