easyJet has announced further additions to its Scottish network with the launch of flights to Bordeaux from Glasgow Airport.

The new summer service, which is expected to carry 9,000 passengers in the first summer of operation, is Glasgow’s first direct connection to Bordeaux and will operate twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays.

easyJet also introduced flights from Glasgow to Marrakech on 29 October. The new year-round service operates twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays and provides the only direct service from Scotland.

Ali Gayward, easyJet’s Head of Scotland, said: „As Scotland’s largest airline we are pleased to further strengthen our network with the addition of Bordeaux. We believe that this, as well as our other new routes from Scotland, will prove popular additions to our existing network.

Francois Bourienne, commercial director at Glasgow Airport, said: “Bordeaux is a fantastic new addition to the long list of destinations easyJet already serves from Glasgow, including Marrakech which was launched at the end of last month.
