Austrian Airlines adds more flights to Newark and Chisinau

Following the launch of flight service to Newark Austrian Airlines will increase its flight frequency from five to six times per week starting in April 2015. Flights to Newark operating a Boeing 767 aircraft will be expanded to seven times weekly as of June 2015. Austrian Airlines will continue to offer daily flights to JFK, the second airport in New York. Daily flight service will also be maintained to Chicago, Washington and Toronto, Canada. This means that the new flight schedule of Austrian Airlines will include daily flights to all its North American destinations starting in June 2015.

More flights to Moldova

In addition due to the positive demand in transit traffic, Austrian Airlines is expanding its flight service to and from Chişinău. Instead of seven times per week, up to ten flights will be offered in the future to the Moldovan capital. This increase, implemented in response to growing demand from the region, enables Austrian Airlines to provide optimal connections to its North Atlantic flights. Transfer traffic accounts for 63% of the passengers flying from the USA to Eastern Europe with a stopover in Vienna.

Crisis areas in the Middle East and Ukraine

In comparison to its winter timetable for 2013/14, Austrian Airlines has removed Tripoli from its new flight schedule for the winter of 2014/15 due to the current political situation. In contrast, flights will continue to be offered to Tel Aviv, Charkiw and Dnjepropetrowsk. Austrian Airlines will also provide flight service to Teheran up to five times per week. Flights will no longer be operated to Istanbul in the new winter timetable, but will be resumed up to once daily in time for the beginning of the Easter holidays in 2015.
