Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, welcomed the fifth Airbus A320 at its Sofia base. This aircraft will support operations on the recently launched services to Bari, Cologne, Geneva, Naples and Munich Memmingen. The new aircraft also allows Wizz Air to increase the number of weekly flights on the existing routes from Sofia to London Luton, Bologna, Larnaca, Dubai and Malta.

In response to demand Wizz Air opens its new routes 3 months earlier as initially announced and now offers a total of 27 routes to 14 countries from 3 Bulgarian airports.

Tamara Mshvenieradze, Corporate Communications Manager at Wizz Air, said: “It is a great pleasure to congratulate the first passengers flying with our fifth new aircraft to Geneva today. Our development of the Sofia base creates new jobs and the opportunity to develop local tourism. Together with the other new destinations from Sofia to Bari, Cologne, Naples and Munich Memmingen, we will make summer travels more exciting for Bulgarians and allow more visitors to discover Sofia.”
