Wizz Air announced a new route from its Cluj-Napoca base. Starting 19 December, WIZZ will operate two flights per week, on Tuesday and Saturday, from Cluj-Napoca to Dubai World Central Airport. Wizz Air was the first airline operating flights to Dubai World Central in 2013. The airport is designed to become the main aviation center in the region and is expected to become one of the world’s busiest airports in the next decade.

With this new service WIZZ is now offering a combined total of 93 routes to 42 destinations in 15 countries from eight Romanian airports, with two routes now connecting Romania to the United Arab Emirates. Tickets on Wizz Air’s new Dubai route will go on sale starting today and can be booked at wizzair.com starting from 269 lei*.

Wizz Air spokesman Daniel de Carvalho said: „We are delighted to announce such an exciting destination for our Cluj-Napoca route network. The new route to Dubai not only reinforces WIZZ’s market leadership in Romania; it also consolidates our offering of popular holiday destinations for Transylvanian consumers. The decision to increase services to Dubai from Romania follows the good results we have enjoyed with our Bucharest-Dubai route.”
