Swiss to cancel flights to Kiev

On October 1st Swiss will cancel its route from Zurich to Kiev. The decision was based on economic reasons, Swiss writes in a press release on Thursday. The Zurich-Kiev have not developed as expected.

Swiss introduced the direct link between Zurich and Kiev with the winter timetable 2013/14. First flight was on October 27th. Swiss operates the route daily with an Airbus A320 with

All Swiss-affected passengers could cancel their flight free of charge or can rebook on partner airlines, they say. Lufthansa, the parent company of Swiss, offer different connections from Switzerland to Ukraine. So passenger can travel with Austrian Airlines from Zurich via Vienna or with Lufthansa via Munich or Frankfurt.

But there will be flights with a Swiss flight number from Zurich to Kiev. However, these are carried out by the Ukrainian International Airlines via Codesharing.
