SkyGreece Airlines to launch services to Canada

Greek start-up SkyGreece Airlines has announced that it will launch services from Athens, Thessaloniki and Croatian capital Zagreb to Canada following relevant approvals from the Greek and Canadian authorities.

The new year-round service between Athens and Toronto will launch on May 17th (3x weekly). Additionally SkyGreece will fly weekly seasonal from Thessaloniki to Toronto starting May 20th. In winter 2015/16 this service is incraesing to two weekly flights. On May 23th a weekly Athens – Montreal will launch and on June 22th a weekly seasonal service from Toronto to Zagreb will start (return leg Zagreb-Toronta starts on June 24th)

At the moment SkyGreece owns a single Boeing 767-300ER. But the new carrier said it will add a second aircraft shortly.

SkyGreece Airlines was founded in Athens, Greece in October 2012, by a team of Greek-Canadian entrepreneurs. The company is a joint stock company, incorporated and headquartered in Athens. The company’s main mission is to connect Greek diaspora to their homeland

After receiving all necessary operating permits from the greek authorities last year SkyGreece began operating charter flights for Royal Air Maroc and Air Madagascar.

Recentlythe carrier received the license to operate scheduled international services between European Community and Canada. SkyGreece also evaluates service from Athens to New York and Chicago.
