Iberia Group Starts Summer Season with New Routes and Destinations

At the start of the summer season the Iberia Group is adding routes, destinations and capacity. Iberia, along with its low-cost carrier Iberia Express and its franchise partner Iberia Regional Air Nostrum, are opening up to 39 new routes and adding 19 destinations, while adding flight frequencies and/or seats on 22 of its existing routes.

Havana and two Colombian cities join long-haul network

After an interruption of about two years, on 1st June Iberia is resuming services between Madrid and Havana, and on 3rd July is launching new routes to the Colombian cities of Cali and Medellin.

Last September the Spanish airline resumed flights to Uruguay and to the Dominican Republic. Starting tomorrow, it will increase the number of flights to Santo Domingo from five weekly frequencies to a daily flight.

Changes in Europe

The Iberia Group is adding destinations in Italy, the UK, France, Germany and Portugal.

In Italy, Iberia and Iberia Express will fly all year round to Florence and Naples, and during the summer season to Palermo, Catania and Verona, while adding capacity on its Madrid-Venice route.

In Germany, the Iberia Group is launching direct flights to Hamburg and increasing serving to Berlin, Frankfurt, and Dusseldorf.

In France, Iberia Express is launching new flights from Madrid to Paris-Charles de Gaulle, while Iberia Regional Air Nostrum will fly there from Santander.

Iberia Express is also adding flights to Lyon, Nice and Nantes, which are also served by Iberia Regional Air Nostrum, plus a new Tenerife-Lyon route. Iberia is launching direct Corunna-Paris flights, and during the summer season Iberia Regional Air Nostrum will be flying Madrid-Lourdes, Madrid-Perpignan, Ibiza-Perpignan and Alicante-Carcassonne. Iberia will add capacity on its route from Madrid to Paris-Orly.

In the UK, Iberia Express will operate direct flights between Madrid- Edinburgh, Manchester, and London-Gatwick, while flying to London-Heathrow from Tenerife, Gran Canaria and Majorca. Iberia Regional Air Nostrum has begun regular services between Vigo and London-Luton.

In Portugal, Iberia is launching flights during the summer to Faro in the Algarve, and to Funchal on the island of Madeira, while boosting Madrid-Lisbon capacity.

Both Iberia and Iberia Express will fly to Budapest this summer, and Iberia Express will also fly a new direct route from Tenerife to Asturias.

Iberia’s franchise partner will fly from Marrakesh to Bilbao and Valencia, will connect Vigo with Seville, Malaga and Gran Canaria, as well as Fuerteventura with Valencia and Santander with Gran Canaria.

As in previous years, during the summer season Iberia is resuming services to Los Angeles, Boston, St. Petersburg, Zagreb, Split, Dubrovnik, and Ibiza, among other destinations.

More capacity on 16 routes

Apart from Santo Domingo, there will be increases in the number of seats offered on Iberia Group routes to Mexico City, Brussels, Geneva, Marrakesh, Prague, Tel Aviv, Zagreb, Athens, Dublin, Gran Canaria, Ibiza, La Palma, Majorca, Tenerife, and Asturias.
