Estonian Air added flights on Tallinn-Vilnius route to 11 roundtrips a week as from 25 May 2015, as Air Lituanica has made a decision to terminate its operations. So far Estonian Air was operating 6 roundtrips a week between Tallinn and Vilnius.

In addition to the current evening flights, Estonian Air will add morning roundtrips departing from Tallinn on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

“In general the air traffic between Tallinn and Vilnius will remain the same as in the period we operated the route wing by wing with Air Lituanica. However, we are planning to find out together with Lithuanian Ministry of Economic Affairs what are the possibilities for future cooperation to connect Vilnius with the rest of European cities,” said Indrek Randveer, CCO of Estonia Air.

Regarding cancelled flights of Air Lituanica, all passengers are entitled to a full refund guaranteed by European legislation. “Therefore, we suggest passengers having air tickets for the cancelled flights to buy a new ticket on Estonian Air direct flight and ask for full refund from Air Lituanica,” added Randveer.

Estonian Air was leasing one Embraer 170 aircraft to Air Lituanica on prepayment basis, and the ceased operations by Air Lituanica do not affect economic activities of Estonian Air.
