Denim Air has announced the introduction of the ATR 42 to its fleet in the second week of March. The aircraft will be based in Amsterdam and used for ACMI contracts and (adhoc) charters and will be available as from the 9th of March. The aircraft will be operated in close cooperation with a Spanish aviation partner, who partly provide crew and maintenance support.

“We are very glad to finally start operating ATR aircraft, after having introduced Embraer, Fokker, Bombardier aircraft in the past. By adding the ATR to our portfolio, we are able to offer regional aircraft of all different types and sizes to our customers. Right sizing in aviation becomes more and more important and we want to anticipate on these developments. We are able to add this type at a low introduction cost, by entering into an efficient cooperation with partner airlines.” commented Ronald Janssen, CEO of Denim.

Over the years Denim has become an established aircraft operator in the ACMI wet-lease and (ad hoc) charter markets. Denim operates its fleet of Fokker 50’s, Fokker 100’s, ATR 42’s and Embraer ERJ145’s on ACMI wet-lease and (ad hoc) charter basis for a wide variety of tour operators, travel agents, sports teams, governments, the military and NGO’s, not only in Europe but also in the Middle East and Africa.
